Installed 6.0 ?  You need to make some default setting changes.

Player Settings / Live / Options - change timecode system from PAL to NTSC

When you open a new sequence, make sure the preset is NTSC and that the render codec is DV (AVI) and frame rate is 29.97, and under "Advanced", make sure render quality is HIGH

When you import files, make sure the frame rate is set for 29.97, check assume drop frame, and  that default time code is 29.97
